“In Conversation with” series. Ar. Komal Parvez was held on February 2nd, 2024 at IAP House, Karachi. The Event was attended by Architects and Architecture Students of different Schools.
Komal’s presentation was a journey through transformations that Landscape Architecture has gone through. She highlighted how political structure , spiritual beliefs and Art influenced the field from the 12th to the 19th century.
20th century Landscape Design was impacted by an awareness of the importance of public spaces and Community living. The mid 60’s influence of technology brought GIS that was initiated by studies of prominent Landscape Architects.
She concluded by discussing how climate change and the need for bio diversity has impacted the aesthetic and composition of Landscape Architecture.
